I celebrate YOU.

Our biggest blessing is our very existence. Because we exist, all the other blessings can happen.

Since our calendar follows the pattern of 365 days, 12 months, and 7 days, we are assigned a day based on the calendar day of our birth.

Birthdays then become known as a one-day in a year created to celebrate you.

It is interesting to note that we do not focus as much on the exact time of birth as on the day. I wonder what that would be like. If we know the exact time of our birth, and we choose to indulge in reflection and ponder over our very miraculous existence.

Our births are miracles in themselves that need our appreciation. It is incredible how we are formed and come to be. Birth is one of the most fascinating parts of human existence.

To add to it, having lived another year is a new blessing.

A curious thing to consider is also the calendar difference between the Eastern and Western worlds. As someone born in the Eastern world but living in the Western world, my birth date ranges between the 28th and 29th while I translate it to the Western world. So which really is my actual birthday?

And perhaps, more importantly, can we really get caught up in the exact day? Due to this, I have come to the conclusion that it is enough to designate one day a year to celebrate me. Yet, I cannot help but question that logic too.

Why only one day to celebrate my life, my existence, and me? Every day should be a celebration. Our life is worth celebrating and rejoicing in daily. By that, I do not mean, going out to party every day, but finding ways of celebrating you. And celebrating life. Your life. And the lives of all those around you.

Millions of blessings come together for our lives to exist. Our existence is interconnected with the existence of all living beings around us.

We all could use more celebrations. Celebrations of existence. Of all there was, is, and will be.

Our very existence is a blessing.
